Aaliyah Dana Haughton nacio el (16 de enero, 1979 y murio el 25 de agosto, 2001).

Conocida profesionalmente como Aaliyah, fue una cantante afro-americana de R&B, bailarina, modelo y actriz. En varias ocasiones nominada al Grammy, ostentando también una nominación al Oscar (Academy Award) por su interpretación del tema principal de una película. Presentada en las audiencias por el cantante y productor R&B R. Kelly en 1994; Aaliyah se convirtió en famosa por derecho propio durante la mitad de los 90’s con varios éxitos, gracias al equipo de composición/producción de Missy Elliott y Timbaland, y se asoció con Steve Garrett.

Tuvo varias canciones con el desaparecido duo de rap Kris Kross. Su legado musical incluye cinco hits #1 en las listas de R&B, y siete singles dentro del Top 10 en el Billboard Hot 100. Aaliyah vendió alrededor de 33 millones de álbums alrededor del mundo y aproximadamente 11 millones en EE. UU., en total casi 45 millones de discos vendidos durante y después de su carrera. La cantante también modeló para Tommy Hilfiger y protagonizó dos películas cinematográficas antes de su muerte en un trágico accidente aéreo el 25 de Agosto de 2001 a la edad de 22 años.
